Scouten has played a major role at significant events in South Florida since joining the station. He has reported from the CBS4’s Broward County Newsroom for over two decades, setting a new record. Ted won two Emmy Awards for his documentary “March of the Living: Return to Auschwitz.”

Ted has covered major events across the Caribbean, the U.S. and Latin America. Ted was on the scene of the devastating earthquake in Haiti less than 24 hours after it struck. He also travelled to New York City less than 24 hours after the 9/11 attacks.
He recalls it as a devastating memory, but he enjoyed his experience of being on the scene. This experience made him change to be a better human. Ted is always ready for news as it is. He keeps a packed bag and passport in his car.
His most memorable work is the 2012 award-winning documentary “March of the Living: Return to Auschwitz.” He carried out an investigation and followed three holocaust survivors back to Auschwitz for an emotional journey. He received two Emmy Awards for his role in this major project. Scouten said, “These incredible men are living testament to the ugliness of bigotry and hate,” Scouten said. “They also serve as a shining example of how tolerance, education and love can change hearts and minds.” Ted received the 2002 Emmy for his report on Pet Overpopulation in South Florida. He is an animal advocate having rescued numerous dogs. Ted is very active with the community. Some of his favourite causes are The Wildlife Care Center, AIDS Walk South Florida, Broward House and The Humane Society of Broward County.
