Susanna Reid is an English television presenter and journalist. Reid has been the lead presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain alongside Ben Shephard, Kate Garraway and formerly Piers Morgan. She also presented Sunday Morning Live on BBC One from 2010 to 2011.

Reid joined the BBC’s morning show as a regular presenter in 2003 and became part of the its first-choice line-up with Bill Turnbull in 2012. During that time, the three-hour live programme has required her to tackle the full spectrum of stories, from interviewing prime ministers to reporting from the Oscars red carpet.

Reid is married to her ex-partner, journalist Dominic Cotton, in 1998. Dominic Cotton is an English journalist. Born in Cheshire, but moving to London when he was two, Cotton trained and worked as an actor, gaining parts on The Bill and in London’s West End theatre. After two years he undertook a post-graduate diploma at the Centre for Journalism Studies at Cardiff University, and started his broadcast career as a regional news reporter in Plymouth for the BBC in 1995.

Cotton then chose to become freelance to pursue a career in sports broadcast journalism, moving to London to specialise in sport including spells at digital TV network Channel 1, Sky Sports, Five and ITV. Cotton rejoined the BBC in 1998 as a sports producer and presenter on overnight production shifts for BBC Breakfast, before joining BBC News 24 as a sports presenter. He also reported for Football Focus.

Susanna was one of the main presenters on BBC Breakfast, presenting with Bill Turnbull on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and previously presenting with Charlie Stayt on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. She held that role from 2012, when she replaced lead presenter Sian Williams. In 2010, Reid stepped down from presenting Breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays to take a role on a new programme Sunday Morning Live.

She co-hosts the show alongside rotating male presenters Monday-Wednesday and with Ben Shephard every Thursday. She hosts the show from 6 am to 9 am.

The Television and Radio Industries Club named Reid Newsreader of the Year at their annual awards In March 2014, the week after it was announced she would join ITV. In 2015, she again won the same award. In 2015, she also received an Honorary Fellowship from her alma mater, Cardiff University.

Susanna Reid has an incurable disease which she has lived with for 17 years. The Good Morning Britain host, 50, was diagnosed with tinnitus after the birth of her son, Finn, in 2004. Tinnitus refers to the sensation of hearing a sound in the absence of any external noise, and is often described as a ringing in the ears. Sufferers may hear a buzzing or ringing in one or both their ears, or sometimes in their heads. The sounds may come and go, or they might stay with the person 24/7.

Tinnitus currently has no cure, and the symptoms vary from person to person – with the noises most commonly described as a ringing, buzzing, humming or hissing. Susanna first revealed that she was living with the incurable illness back in 2018 when she opened up about her daily life living with tinnitus.
