Stephanie Sy is an American Television News reporter. She currently serves as an anchor for PBS NewsHour. Sy joined the network in 2019. She was a contributor airing regularly on PBS News Hour Weekend when she was a freelance reporter. Stephanie had also worked for Yahoo as a correspondent and anchor. Sy has also anchored for big named industry networks, including ABC News, Aljazeera America, CNN International, and CBSN. Sy holds an Asian American Journalists Association “Mentor of the Year” Award received in 2019. Stephanie was dispatched to the Middle East to cover the invasion of Iraq. Her war coverage for the former N.Y. Times Broadcast Group won her an Associated Press award. She later returned to Baghdad several times as a reporter for ABC affiliates.
