Spencer Christian is an American reporter, talk show host, sports commentator, and broadcaster. He currently serves as a meteorologist for ABC affiliate KGO TV in San Francisco. He got famous as a weather forecaster for Good Morning America on ABC from 1986 to 1998. Spencer has written several children’s books.

In the news affiliate NBC TV in Richmond, VA, in 1971, he started a career as a journalist just 25 miles from his infancy home. In addition to general job reporting and lighthearted features, the federal courts and education frequently played an important part in state and local politics. He couldn’t predict the weather would be his big-time ticket. After two weeks of stinting, he was the station’s key weatherman; by the mid-1970s, he was on his way to WABC-TV in New York after a shortstop from the NBC station in Baltimore.
He was at WABC for nine years. He worked first as a weatherman, then as a host for the morning show, and then as a principal sportscaster. During all these years, he attended ABC’s Good Morning America regularly, filled out the weather, and did feature reports and interviews. In 1986, as a weathercaster, reporter, and guest host, he joined GMA full-time. He has spoken in the ABC literate.
Christian will also not swap jobs with anyone worldwide after more than 48 years in TV news. He was a news editor, a sportscaster, a lecturer, and a forecasting expert. Christian traveled to all 50 states and five continents for his assignments and journeys. He had the opportunity to meet six presidents; the most remarkable people who did something exceptional in sport, foreign affairs, and the arts; and, more memorably, ordinary people.
