Along with that, Sian was announced as the main female presenter of BBC Breakfast in May 2005. Initially she worked alongside Dermot Murnaghan and subsequently, starting in 2008, with Bill Turnbull. After the production staff for BBC Breakfast was relocated to Salford, Williams left the show on March 15, 2012.

Additionally, she joined BBC Breakfast as a relief presenter on January 12, 2001, beginning presenting on Friday–Sunday alongside Darren Jordon. Williams announced her departure from the BBC on November 5, 2015, to become the new host of 5 New.
