To begin with, she left television after more than a decade then joined the corporate world where she worked as a Consumer Affairs specialist and Commercial Spokesperson for Furr’s Supermarkets, Inc, Hibner spent seven years working at Furr’s. Additionally, she returned to Lubbock television in 1995 to work as KCBD-TV’s morning show and noon news anchor. Because of her hard work, in October 2015 she got promoted to Executive Producer of DayBreak Today changing her schedule to work overnights as a result, she went off the noon news. She was anxious to join a morning news program since both of her sons were in school, for this reason, this afforded her afternoons and evenings to travel to their sporting and school events and spend time with them.
Before that, she started her television career in her second year at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Hibner joined CBS affiliate where she worked as an anchor of the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts for seven years. Furthermore, she was News Director for three years and Produced both shows.
Afterward, she left CBS affiliate and joined ABC affiliate in Lubbock. While she was at ABC affiliate, she served as the Anchor for the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts and was the Producer of both shows for seven years.
Apart from that, she was recognized by Texas Tech University’s College of Media and Communications as an Outstanding student in 2017. Moreover, she worked at the Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District Board of Trustees for more than a decade. Hibner has dedicated annually to helping students thus she has been honored with numerous awards and recognition. She spent some years teaching pupils reading on the junior high level. Hibner has been honored by the Texas Classroom Teachers Association after being recognized as Volunteer of the Year. Furthermore, she received the Superintendent of the Year award because she served to Lubbock-Cooper ISD.
