Earlier on, in 2011 she received the “Toledo 20 Under 40” award identifying her contributions to the local people. Additionally, she covered various Northwest Ohio’s major news stories like working as the only tv reporter for CNN during the eruption of the 2005 Neo-Nazi riots on the roads, putting on a safety jacket to cover the destructive flooding in Findlay in 2007 and nabbed an entire interview with American icon runner-up Crystal Bowersox in 2011 who was born in Northwest Ohio.
Ahead of moving to Toledo, she was in Columbus working behind the scenes for FOX 28 News and WSYX-ABC 6 as well as WSNY-FM. Afterward, Brey was in Los Angeles working at E! News then in Lubbock, Texas, where she received various Associated Press awards because of her reporting and anchoring.
