While there, in 2019, she won the prestigious Dick Fletcher Excellence in Media Award due to coverage on Hurricane Michael prior to, during and following the storm destruction, to most of WMBB’s viewing region, together along with her capability to “rally” and encourage the communities within, following the storm to assist in supplying crucial assistance and funds to those affected greatly by the hurricane.

To give her the award at the National Governor’s Hurricane Conference, she was identified due to her “exceptional work to teach and inform the public concerning hurricanes and hurricane readiness, response, recovery in the state of Florida. LoCicero displayed unique skills as a broadcast journalist where she talked about details of disastrous public weather events, by making it easier for the layman using an on-air persona that provides self-respect and makes an environment of trust with all of her audience when supplying life-saving details.”
