Mike Edwards has been a journalist with the ABC since joining as a cadet in the Perth newsroom in 2002.
Since then he’s reported for TV and Radio News as well as Stateline in Perth before moving to Sydney in 2005 to work for Lateline, the ABC’s evening current affairs television program.
At Lateline, he covered major national stories including allegations of Chinese government spying in Australia as well as the AWB wheat for weapons scandal.
In 2006 Edward joined the ABC’s Radio Current Affairs Unit. Here, he reported for AM, PM and The World Today. His work has been recognised with two Walkley Award nominations.
Mike took up his post in New Delhi with the Australia Network in July 2009.
He has a degree in politics from the University of Western Australia and he studied broadcasting at the WA Academy of Performing Arts.
