Maria previously worked for five years as a producer at CNN.Bartiromo then moved to CNBC in 1993, where she worked on-air for 20 years.

Her grandfather Carmine Bartiromo immigrated from Nocera in Campania to the United States in 1933. Carmine settled in New York and Served in the U.S. armed forces.

Bartiromo married Jonathan Steinberg in 1999. Her husband is the chief executive officer of WisdomTree Investments, recognized as the son of billionaire financier Saul Steinberg.  His father was Saul Steinberg, the Wall Street executive who became a billionaire by age 40, New York Magazine reported. Steinberg is the CEO of WisdomTree Investments, an asset management company in New York. He goes by the nickname “Jono.”

The couple met soon after Maria’s college graduation in 1990. They held an intimate wedding ceremony officiated by a rabbi at the bridegroom’s house. The pair owns a beach house in the Westhampton, New York hamlet.
