Leo legal practise began when he was admitted to the California Bar on 4th December 1990. The same year, he became a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Bush’s nominee for the county judge of Los Angeles.
Terrell chaired the Black-Korean alliance. He also served as an Advisory Board Member for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and was a member of the Statewide Commission Against Hate Crimes. Terrell made significant contributions in his legal career, especially in civil rights.
Leo represented Kumasi Simmons in 1995, Kumasi was expelled from Centennial High School in Compton for physically assaulting the referee. Simmons reportedly attacked the referee for using racial epithets directed at him. The attorney said the Beverly Hills Police Department intimidated witnesses who could have provided evidence for Simmons’ claim.

Leo began his radio career on 3rd June 1996, when he co-hosted the talk show called Terrell and Katz. Burton Katz, a former supreme court judge, was his co-host. The weekday show aired on KMPC radio in Los Angeles, California. Terrell was the liberal voice, while Katz was the conservative one. On 5th October 1996, the show moved to KABC, where it aired on weekends.
