Joy Reid Biography
Joy Reid is an American Journalist. She currently works at MCNBC as a cable television host, political analyst and National correspondent. Reid joined MCNBC as a contributor in 2011, later in 2015 Joy was appointed as the station’s national correspondent.
Reid is also an author, who wrote the book on the current history of Democratic party titled Fracture: Barak Obama, Clintons and the Racial Divide published by HarperCollins on September 8, 2015.. Joy used to work as an anchor on the weekly morning show at MCNBC, AM Joy.

Reid currently hosts, The ReidOut, a new Washington-based weeknight commentary show in the 7 p.m. Eastern time. She took over the position from Chris mathews who had just retired in the March 2020 retirement. This position made her cable’s first Black female primetime anchor.
Reid kicked off her journalism Profession in 1997,in South Florida for a WSVN Channel 7 morning show.She left airing for a while to work with the group America Coming Together to oppose the Iraq War and President George W. Bush in 2003. She later landed a position on air as a talk radio host of Wake Up South Florida and played a major role on Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.Joy served as managing editor of The Grio from 2011 untill 2014. She worked as a political columnist for Miami Herald from 2003 to 2015, and the editor of The Reid Report political blog 2000 to 2014.
Reid was the host her own MSNBC afternoon cable news show, The Reid Report from Feb 2014 to 2015 when the show was canceled. Joy was later shifted to a new position as the station’s national correspondent.
AM Joy, a political weekend-morning talk show on MSNBC began in May 2016 and the station appointed Joy as the host. Reid’s morning show on Saturdays expanded to almost one million weekly viewers.
