Berschback serves 13ABC as the chief meteorologist. Before joining the station, he started his journalism career when he was still in college. He worked for WLNS-TV in Lansing, Michigan as the fill-in weather anchor. Then he worked for Commercial Weather Services (CWS), Inc which is a private weather forecasting agency. While in CWS he focused on providing WJR-AM in Detroit with broadcasting weather forecasts.
Later, he joined WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, IN where he worked as the primetime and noon meteorologist. During his tenure, he read news stories, interviewed different guests, hosted a live cooking segment and also anchored the weather.
In June 2000, Berschback’s unforgettable time as a newsman is when he took part in covering the commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Toledo Zoo. During the time he covered the story, he got his first television appearance next to Tony Perkins on “Good Morning America” and got the opportunity to interact and interview Jack Hanna, who was the host of “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures.” Afterward, in August 2004, Berschback was at the Toledo Air Show flying together with the Red Baron Squadron. His experience in a bi-plane involved loops, spins and flips. This never made the tough meteorologist sick.
Then in July 2016, he boarded an F-16 and flew to the USAF Thunderbirds. This was a once-in-a-blue-moon flight! He says that it was like traveling every roller coaster in Cedar Point and still for 45 minutes…Check out the video. This never made the tough meteorologist sick.
Moreover, he received his Television Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association and also the American Meteorological Society. Berschback is an active person of the two organizations.
