She is the founder of the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation and a breast cancer survivor. Walters was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, which led to her miscarriage and later in 2008, necessitating a double mastectomy. She founded her organization and hence earned her establishment as a household name among Atlanta women and their families.

In 2013, she founded the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation. This resulted from all the difficulties she encountered during her treatment and rehabilitation. The aim of her organization is to promote breast cancer survivors’ inner and outer beauty and nurture a conducive environment for recovery. She later founded a support group for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer so as to extend the organization’s benefits.
