Sherrod began her career at 18 years as a jazz station host and later at 19. She earned a job as the country’s youngest radio station music director. She saw real estate as an option to attain retirement money and an alternative to her career in radio, gaining experience from her father and uncle. She bought her first home at 24 years old. Hence much of her gains she used to pay fees for her real estate agents before becoming a licensed agent in 2002. She also served on the Maury show as a correspondent.
She earned a position at New York City’s WBLS 107.5, where she conducted interviews with Oprah, Prince, and Tyler Perry. Her access to celebrities promoted her real estate career. She thought about transitioning out of radio after claiming to grow tired of “gossip and entertainment reports. She later attempted to audition as a host of a program that would become Property Virgins and secured the position. She accepted an offer to be the midday anchor of WVEE V-103 in Atlantabin in March 2012. During her time in Atlanta, she interviewed various celebrities, such as Musiq Soulchild, Keith Sweat, The Braxtons, and Jazze Pha.
