Hsu has been recognized with a few awards for stories like “Smuggled from China,” which exposed Chinese refugees’ horrific plights as they tried to make it to America. Her two-part series “Bringing Rosie Home” was nominated for an Emmy and won the New York AP Broadcasters Award for Best Feature. Cindy has also received other awards, such as the Friends of Adoption Award and the Golden Apple Award by American Women on TV and Radio. She also earned the title Reporter of the year from NJ and NY (an American organization on law enforcement). 

Hsu anchored the weekend evening newscasts and was replaced by Jessica Moore in 2016. before joining WCBS TV, Hsu was a reporter and anchor at Green Bay’s WFRV TV. She also worked in Steubenville, Ohio, for WTOV TV.

Hsu is actively involved in community service and social work through being involved in APEX’s advisory board, which assists youths in need of guidance. She is Asian American Journalist Association’s former president and is a member of the directors’ board at the Museum of Chinese in the US Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
