Jones began her career in the newsroom of Mix 96, a local radio station in Buckinghamshire, in 1994.
She went on to work for News Direct 97.3FM in London, where she was a presenter on the day of Diana, Princess of Wales’s death in 1997.
Subsequently, she went on to work for Independent Radio News. She began her career as a reporter for 5 News in 1999, and since 2005, she has worked as a relief presenter, primarily on Sundays. She then rose through the ranks to become a Health Correspondent.
Additionally, Catherine took over as Health Editor at ITV News in May 2014, succeeding Lawrence McGinty, who had retired as Science and Medical Editor.
Afterward, Jones worked on ITV’s main news bulletins as well as the current affairs programs Tonight and On Assignment. Jones left the role on ITV News after only four months, returning to her previous position of Health Correspondent on 5 News.
