Amanda Balionis is an American journalist working at CBS Sports as a reporter for golf, college football, and the NFL. She previously served as a reporter for some events during The Match golfing. She graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in journalism, in 2008.

Her rise to prominence in the world of golf broadcasting took years, beginning as an intern for ABC News Now, The New York Jets, and CBS 2, before moving on to cover minor sports events in the New York Tri-State area. Amanda’s career did not take off until she moved west to San Diego in 2016.

She accepted a position in the media department at Callaway Golf in Carlsbad, California. Turner Sports approached her after only a few months on the job to work at the 2016 PGA Championship. Her performance was noticed, and in 2017, CBS hired her to help cover The Genesis Open. Balionis impressed CBS Sports’ Chairman and was hired full-time to cover golf, NFL, and college football games.

Amanda was hired by CBS as a part-time golf reporter in 2017, and a year later promoted to a full-time reporter, adding college football and NFL games to her responsibilities. She previously worked at Verizon Fios Channel, MSG Network, and PGA Tour.

Balionis, like any true Pittsburgher, is a Steelers fan who has long wished to cover the Super Bowl. Amanda stated in a 2017 interview with Golf Digest’s Stephen Hennessey that her long-term goal is to become a full-time golf and football broadcaster for CBS. During the 2017/18 season, she was given her first opportunity to demonstrate that her knowledge of American Football was on par with her golf knowledge.

She was assigned to broadcast from the sidelines during a Week 5 game between the Raiders and the Chargers. Her dream of covering a Super Bowl became a reality in 2019. CBS gave her the keys to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, which The Patriots eventually won. Aside from covering the NFL, Balionis works as a CBS sideline reporter during college football games.
