Earhardt has interviewed both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. During a 2018 interview, she applauded Trump for threatening James Comey, former FBI Director, with alleged audio recordings. Ainsley stated it was a smart way to ensure James maintained honesty in congressional hearings.

Earhardt is the co-host of Fox And Friends on FOX News Channel, aired on weekdays from 6 to 9 in the morning with Steve Doocy & Brian Kilmeade. She joined the network in 2007, replacing Elizabeth.

Earhardt began her profession as a morning and noon reporter for WLTX. WLTX is the local CBS station bases in Columbia, South Carolina, while she was still a student at the University of South Carolina. She spent four years working here from 2000 to 2004. She was among those who travelled to New York City after the September 11 attacks to assist students at South Carolina middle school. The student raised almost half a million dollars for firefighters to purchase a new fire truck to replace the lost one at the World Trade Center site.

She moved to San Antonio, Texas, and anchored weekday morning and noon newscasts at KENS-TV in 2005. In Texas, she attended and completed the Austin, Texas, half-marathon. She also skydived with the Golden Knights USA Army and flew in an F-16 with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds at the Air Force Academy.
